In short, I need help identifying two chords and a certain time signature. Any and all help is appreciated.

The first chord is fairly straightforward. I play it in A, but it's basically a root, fifth, major seventh, and a second up an octave (ninth?). The second chord is a root, major third, major seventh, and the second interval (again) up an octave.

The time signature is hard to identify for me, so if anyone has a reference on how to identify them, that would also be appreciated. It goes:

1+ 2+ 3+, 1+ 2+ (and repeats three times before changing chords or whatever).

Thanks again in advance.

Cheers.

For your time signature question, It might just be my way of reading it, but it looks like 5/4 to me. The top number (in this case) 5, is how many beats in a measure you have. The bottom number, 4, is what kind of beat counts as 1 beat. In this case, a 4 means that a quarter note counts as one beat. So one measure is composed of 5 quarter notes.

first chord - V over a tonic pedal. (or just another chord over a different bass note if it isn't the tonic)

Second chord, just a normal major 7th.

The way you've written it looks like 5/4.

Which is why you shouldn't be giving out advice on this forum...

Thank you for telling me what I did wrong, oh wise one. I apologize for my oh so inferior ways. I am not worthy. /sarcasm.

I was thinking that he just wanted to know what the chord name was.

EDIT: The first chord would be a maj9(no3rd), no?
