Fun:
Eric Dolphy - Gazzeloni
Soma Ras - Symbiosis Rejected
Malignancy - Global Systemic Collapse
Brand X - Not Good Enough, See Me

Boring:
Decapitated - Spheres of Madness
Darkthrone - anything from Transilvanian Hunger
Most metalcore

Fun:
Ruin - Lamb of God (minus the crazy drum fill)
This Dying Soul - Dream Theater
Blood and Thunder - Mastadon
Pulse of the Maggots - Slipknot

And I don't find drumming boring at all, so I enjoy pretty much every song I play haha.

If you're any good on drums anything by Metallica should be boring. Lars Ulrich, you suck! Sue me!

Also Pantera - Walk would be kinda boring.
Tomorrow will take us away
Far from home
No one will ever know our names
But the bards' songs will remain
Tomorrow will take it away
The fear of today
It will be gone
Due to our magic songs

Not all of Lar's drumming is awful. A lot of the drumming on "...And Justice For All" is pretty sweet. I've been playing drums for almost ten years and there's still stuff I can't play from that album haha.

As for Pantera, there's a lot more technical work "Walk" then you think.

Fun:

Sample based music like Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Ambient, Electronica, etc. Its awesome playing complimentary beats to create these insane poly-rhythmic syncopation's. Also practicing on groove and feel (straight vs swung feel exercises).

me: http://www.youtube.com/embed/LUF_-UmAWHc

Boring: IMO top 40 hits and most of anything that is on the radio (except the jazz stations).

Never cared for Metal drumming either (even though i'm a drummer for 2 metal bands)
If anyone would like to collaborate with me via internetz, pm me.

What are some hard songs to play on drums?

Lateralus by Tool.
Sick Sad Little World by Incubus.

I cant play either, but they both sound like a workout
