Hi guys. What's up?

I am basically a complete beginner. I have 3 guitars, a nice line 6 stack and speakers to go with it. I want to learn how to play power-metal. Bands that i'm interested in are Hammerfall and Savatage. I also like Iron Maiden and such. Is there a way that i can go from beginner like am, to playing music that is similar in style and sound, but not the same?

I don't have a job, or money to pay for lessons. That's why i'm posting here. I know, it sounds pretty lame.

sell 2 guitars, pay lessons

No need at all.

TS: really with a question that vague all anyone can say is practice and learn as much as you can. Obviously you need to improve your technique and there is plenty of great information on this very website about that. As for learning to play the styles you want, what you really need to do is learn a good amount of theory; once you know a good amount of theory you can examine what makes the music you like sound the way it does. Once you know that, making your own music sound like it should be relatively easy.

If my guitars would get me some money i would. 1 is missing everything (internal parts and pickups and all) the other 2 are cheapo modified guitars.

Alright. I guess i'll learn theory first.

Don't just learn theory, make sure you're improving your technique and such as well.
