I'm looking for stuff along the lines of Kyuss - Demon Cleaner or Kyuss - Gloria Lewis. With that kind of heavy chugging vibe without being super aggressive/in-your-face. (unfortunately I can't get into a lot of Kyuss' stuff because I really don't like Garcia's voice most of the time)

Kyuss is one of my favorites, you should listen to their song "Catamaran", I suggest Deftones(Minerva, Sextape, Mein, KimDracula), Animals As Leaders, an instrumental band with two of the best guitar players of all time(On Impulse, Song of Solomon, Tempting Time, Weightless), and Irepress, an instrumental band, that sometimes uses vocals, I love them(Cyette Phuir, Samus, Nongrafistole Adendum, Fletchie), Electric Wizards's first album, and a band called Sleep, a lot of Kyuss fans listen to them(Dragonaut, From Beyond, and Inside the Sun). Hope this works for you.

Look up Post-metal, This will destroy you is kind of heavy but is super ambient.

Yep- Dragonaut should fit the bill. And Sleep wipes their asses with Kyuss.
