Hey all! First post here!
I've written this particular song, with a tentative title; The Kid Who'll Never Let Go
But I kinda feel that's too long.. I could be wrong, and a long title may work here, but what are your thoughts on possible titles? Or even general criticisms of my lyrics would be appreciated!

==================================================
There once was a boy, all alone in this world. Kept to himself, didn't trust anyone
Then he met this girl, told him he was perfect. skeptical at first, then he let her in.
Night, after night, they talked together, till the morning light. Spoke of their dreams, till they saw the sun.
She finally made him happy, she gave him the hope he needed, but dreams must come to an end, stick the needle in your skin

The kid who'll never let go, he'll never let those times slip away
He'll hang on to memories and moments of passing days
And still he cries alone, the kid who'll never let go
He waits and he wonders does she weep for him

Days and weeks and months went by, the girl was always by his side,
He had no idea of the pain she locked away inside
Then there came a point, where the cracks began to show, she finally let him know, what was going on below
Her history, it was plain to see, was a troubled past, filled with lies and pain, but he couldn't do a thing, so helpless he almost went insane
All he could do was cry, all she could do was sigh, she had to let him go, even though he loved her so

The kid who'll never let go, he'll never let those times slip away
He'll hang on to memories and moments of passing days
And still he cries alone, the kid who'll never let go
He waits and he wonders does she weep for him

Let me tell you what happens next, it's a sad tale, I must confess
It'll bring a tear to your eye, the deceitful girl made him want to die
Its all a bit of fun she said, when she took a new boy to her bed, he told her it was okay, but they both knew the beast was fed
Soon the boy was seeing red, he closed the door inside his head, but it would not fully close, though he finally knew that every rose
Had its thorn, but the rose didn't care, she gave him the cuts that he had to bear, and in that final hour, all he wanted was his flower

The kid who'll never let go, he'll never let those times slip away
He'll hang on to memories and moments of passing days
And still he cries alone, the kid who'll never let go
He waits and he wonders does she weep for him

The kid who'll never let go, he did let those times slip away
Those memories of passing days are now all gone
And now he cries no more, the kid who'll never let go
She waits and she wonders, was this caused by her..

well i think your original title suits the song very well. a long title isn't bad, think about Tom Waits' songs...
You can name it simply 'A boy'

Thanks for the responses! We decided one long title wasn't so bad after all, and it suited the song, with the length clocking in at 8:55!

The Kid Who'll Never Let Go, I think is a good title...many beautiful and famous songs have a long title (for exemple: with a little help from my friends, nobody knows trouble i've seen, etc...)
