I was looking at the book: "Joe Satriani Guitar Secrets" and found what I think is an error:
On the section of what he calls Modal Arpeggios it explains that they are made up of these intervals in order: 1,3,5,7,2(9),4(11),6(13) of a given mode. Then the Lydian arpeggio(In D) has these notes: D,F#,A,C,E,G#,B and the Lydian Dominant is listed as the same. Thing is, isn't the Lydian arpeggio supposed to be D,F#,A,C#,E,G#,B? Because the Lydian has a major seventh(C#) and the Lydian Dominant has a b7(C).

The Mixolydian and Dorian are shown correctly. Am I correct that this was an error in it?(As I doubt that he would give wrong information)

And the book might not even be written by Joe Satriani.

By similar logic, 12-tone theory doesn't fit in with traditional music theory, neither do 'modes of limited transposition'...
