I'm not sure if this is where to post this.

My guitar did it randomly. It's a ltd mh 1000fr guitar. It's not the cord because my other guitars work perfect through the amp. When a put the cord in almost all the way it does produce sounds but just fades out quick.

Is my connection bad? How do I go about fixing this? Thanks in advance!

What amp are you using? Tube or SS?

Sounds likely to be a problem with your guitar's electronics, if anything.

EDIT: Checked your model, Epi's got a point. Change the battery.

Active pickups? I think your model has EMG's. New 9v battery.

The jack? Is that still soldered on?

Go ahead and spend your money, I don't care. It won't make you sound better.

If the battery doesn't solve your problem open up the control cavity and check for a loose connection.

Like the others said... start simple.
1. Change the battery out for a fresh one (and make sure its connected properly).
2. Pull the cover and check the jack... look at the contact to see if it got bent, check the solder joints.

super sorry for the late response. battery didn't change anything but i opened my guitar and was lookinig for a lose wire or something. there are 3 wires (2 black 1 white) that go to the jack. the white one just came out like it wasnt attached. im guessing thats where the connection is missing?

A soldering iron and a spring of solder will run you $15, depending on where you are.

Basic shit, really. You can have that fixed in a couple of minutes by doing it yourself.

yes. it's easy.

buy a soldering iron kit, the directions are on the package.

if a young girl can heat up a curling iron,
then you can heat up a soldering iron,
and reattach that wire.

this is a two wire jack, but the idea is the same.
this is the only way to ever tighten a loose jack in the future.
