My problem with fx loop is that I don't have one. I have behringer to800 vintage overdrive and roland cube (30w).

Roland cube has 2 channels, clean and , let's call it distortion. What I want to do with my to800 is to boost me when I need to play solo in a band, and it work great on clean channel but it can't boost volume on distorted channel( and that is where I realy need it).

So I have been told that fx loop could help me solve that problem ( according to that misterious x.y. person, puttin my to800 in fx loop would help me boost my volume on distortion channel like on clean channel ).

So 2 questions for you:

1) is mr. xy telling truth ?
2) what are my options considering fx loop ? To buy new amp or can I build it somehow ?

Tnx in advance to anyone who responds, cheers

I use a TS pedal in front of my amp to boost it. I have heard of people putting it in the loop, but not for a boost.
What are your settings on the TS?

Basicly since I want my volume to go up for as high as possible while I play solo I put level on max. Drive is around 13 and tone is around 15. Only thing that happens is that i get more comperssion.

the best way to use a TS type pedal as a boost is: Volume max, Gain/Drive 0 and tone to taste.
another thing is the amp you are trying to push. What kind is it and what are your settings?

EDIT sorry I see it is a cube 30

probably not the amp to be boosting IMO. why dont you use a diffrent amp model for each of your settings?

Becouse that is the only one I have right now, it's just for garage bend and is enough ( for now ). So there is no way to boost it ? I have tryed with drive/gain 0 and different settings on tone but there wasn't any volume boost at all, just compression.

Is there any other pedal that could boost my sound ?

Check out the EHX LPB-1 is worth a look it is a boost pedal not an OD being used as a boost. They are pretty cheap new, but even cheaper used.

If your in the US look a guitarcenter used site.

Firstly the fx loop boost is generally for tube amps to give a volume boost and kick in power amp distortion for lead work and isn't going to have much benefit on a cube 30.

A good clean boost at the front end like the LPB, or a super hard on, the Carl Martin hydra, that sort of thing
