Or an ESP EC-1000 with EMG's?

Oh god, that's like seeing "Fender Squier Stratocaster" on craigslist.

Title - 'Gibson Les Paul - 450'
In ad - 'Gibson Epiphone Les Paul Special II, missing a string, comes with amp'

The ES-339 Studio is 1080 Euro
the ES-335 Studio is 1250 Euro at thomann.de

so by the 'usual' exchange-rate they are 1200 and 1400 USD

My Midtown Custom was 1080 Euro

Perfect, 50% off. They'll be 599 and 699 by the end of the year. That's how the Robot Studios went, and they were a great value at their blowout price.
Are you sure that's not MSRP though? Seems insane that they'd try to sell these at the same price as a Midtown.

I love 335's. I don't like this guitar. It looks unfinished and rather cheap looking. A real 335 stands out from across the room.

Agreed. Why buy a Gibson when you can get an Agile?

Because not everyone is in America. And some might like the name

With a neck pickup this might be a winner, especially if they brought back the control cavity route for all the people who just want to buy cheap and swap pickups. But with no neck pickup it’s just missing the point.

It's like if Ferrari started making scooters.

Well Ferrari has, T-shirts, keychains, underwear and pretty much everything else with their logo. Why not Gibson with lazy guitars?

Sad thing is though I played the new LPJ and LP sudio and both were pretty damn nice. Now I see this shit.

WTFH GIBSON?

In the end, the only question is: what bass would Jesus play?

I think he's a Fender Jazz guy.

In short: meh. I love the sound of a real 335, I wouldn't touch that thing with a ten foot pole.

And I agree with the comment that it looks cheap looking. It looks like it should have 'First Act' on it or something, and be sold for $50 at Walmart.

I guess I have weird taste, because I still really like it. I've always been a fan of the minimalist 1 pup Gibson guitars. I guess it's my gain, though, because a low demand will probably drive the price way down. But that new Nighthawk thing is pretty cool, as well.
