I think it kinda sucks that it's going to be released right before the new xbox is being released why not just have it as a launch title?

Because more people have 360s and PS3s.

I know I sure won't spend hundreds of dollars to play GTA V.

Bad business move IMO. Maybe you won't, and I'm not sure I would either, but some people sure as hell will. There's more money to be made.

Making it only for next gen would be really stupid.

It would be different if it was an exclusive to Sony or Microsoft. Rockstar makes no more money selling consoles. All they would be doing is selling it to a much smaller install base

I want to get my hands on it ASAP but I also think its better they delay it abit for more development because who knows what more surprises and functionality we could have with the delay...regardless as soon as its released I'm gonna be stuck to my PC for a long time!
I'm not saying not to trust the internet, but there's an alarming discrepancy between the number of iPads I've won & the number of iPads I own.

I can see Rockstar releasing it on next-gen as well. This could possibly be the reason for the delay. Probably isnt though.

Just Cause 1 was released on previous gen as well as the Xbox 360 and I can't imagine Rockstar releasing all these amazig looking videos and screenshots to just have it released on current gen. It is going to be a massive game and I would bet money on it that it will also be released on next gen as one of the first titles.

This makes the little man innside me have a apocoalyptic rage.
Since they have delayed it i am expecting this:

- so big it makes skyrim look like kanto(pokemon)

- shooting off limbs, not only the head.

- handling on cars just like forza.

- ****ing airplanes!

- more bloooood!

If they don't do a good job of porting it to the PC this time around, Rockstar won't be seeing a penny of my money.
There's a special sex move I do called the Charizard.
It's where you light the girls pubes, then put it out with your cum and run around the room flapping your arms screaming, "You don't have enough badges to train me!"

I just want a good game, so whatever.

Maybe now I might be able to save up some cash for the Super-Mega-****-Donating-Expendable-Income-to-People-In-Need Edition of this game that will undoubtedly be released.

It better be the best game ever made for the wait -_-

Ask Diablo 3 and most Gran Turismo games.

Sucks that GTA is pushed back. I was hyped for this month.

Dont get all the 4 hate in terms of look and feel.

The story and the "choices" lol were a joke but the actual physics look and feel were great to me. It felt satisfying firing a shotty into a car with attacking street thugs in it.

Watching how it affected the class, side mirrors, doors etc was sweet as all hell to me. Shooting in general felt sweet good and so did driving. Much better than SA in that regard but i will admit the story and portrayal of said story in SA in 10x that in GTA4.

GTA IV still rules. Tanks and stuff? You could try Saints Row for that kind of kid stuff.

It's not just that, SA had a great storyline so did IV (though not as good). but the thing that bugged most me is how linear they made IV. I mean what made SA cool was the fact that there was so much more to do other than just the storyline missions like gang wars, gyms, demolition derbys, licenses, houses, upgradeable cars, planes and a much more varied map etc. heck even the storyline missions where alot more fun and more varied, the characters were also waaaaay better. sure IV was much more realistic, but who gives a crap it's a video game

This. The Euphoria engine is a work of genius.

I think I may slightly prefer SA as a game, but IV's story and characters were far better than any previous GTA game.

Saints Row is too surreal and not as serious though. San Andreas was fun, and had humour, but it was also a cool experience that might not be 100% realistic, but it was at least like a lot of good action movies (exaggerated but not too outrageous). I see Saints Row as more of a comedy GTA (one of the characters has a cat's head for funk's sake*), though I'm not trying to knock Saints Row as I think they're quite different games of a similar genre... *I've also never played the latest Saints Row so I'm not sure if the cat head thing is just a costume you can remove, or actually a character with a cat's head

Not really - I can safely say that now I'm approaching my mid-20s (24 in April) I'm unlikely to shell out the RRP of a newly-released console, and I know a lot of others in that situation, and GTA is (supposed to be) aimed at 18+ so given the economy at the moment and how few 18-25 year olds have decent jobs, I'm pretty sure it would be a bad move for them to make it exclusive to next-gen consoles.

I wouldn't buy a new console just for GTA V and I don't know anything about the new Xbox yet, so unless there's some games I'm desperate to play and relive my glory days of gaming, and I have the cash to blow, I'm not gonna get it anywhere near the release date, if at all.
Hey, look. Sigs are back.

Lets face it. The only way you can make it to GTA V without going insane is forgetting about it. So forget about the planes, trains, jets, helicopters, wilderness, story, etc. Forget about all that stuff and just ignore GTA V until July when they will/will not announce another delay.

I liked IV, but it just didn't feel as fun to me. The physics and look of the game were amazing, minus all the grey tones, but it lacked something that Vice City and San Andreas had.

I'm disappointed about the delay, but if V can bring back that element of fun VC and SA had, it'll be well worth the wait IMO. Judging by the screenshots and trailers it already looks that way to me.

Pretty much my sentiments.

Great physics and satisfying driving/shooting but no life in the story and the characthers you interacted were meh at best.

To me SA has easily the best characthers of the series. The only ones that come close in 4 is the oldest McCreary brother and Little Jacob. Only one thats better from Vice City is Donald Love. He is still my fav all time person.

Hopefully it comes out before I start the semester, I was planning to take about a week off when it was released

The thing I hated about IV was that you died too easily and cheats were sort of impractical.

Don't get me wrong, I thought the difficulty was good for the missions and whatnot, I just hated how hard it was to go on rampages throughout the city.

I could spend an hour or two cruising around and taking on the ****ing military in previous GTAs, but in IV it was like, "hell yeah, let's **** the town up!... oh, half a dozen cops just killed me. "

The game seemed more focused on the idea of running when being 'wanted', and didn't really seem to consider the idea of fighting those who wanted you, if you get what I mean. Maybe it's just me.

On a side-note, I'd love if the combat were like Max Payne 3. After beating MP3 and finding the storyline sort of empty, I actually assumed it was just a sneaky way of doing a combat-beta of sorts for future R* games.
#65
^ I also you died way to much in that game. It's was annoying, especially since the shooting mechanics were so bad

Really? I don't think you died too easily in IV. It felt normal to me. Maybe you all are just bad.

I also thought the shooting mechanics were fine. Nothing special, but a massive improvement over the horrible shooting in the PS2-era games.

I think lots of people did. It seemed consistent with the release dates of all their major games the past 4 years or so, which has been mostly May. The delay genuinely caught me off guard.

Yeah, I'm sure they incorporate the best elements from GTA IV and RDR. But why do I have to be in school when the game comes out?

I know a guy who works for rockstar in Leith st Edinburgh, and apparantly the whole due date thing (according to him) is just a marketing ploy.

They never had any intention for an early 2013 release.

That sounds like R*.

I really can't wait for it. It's not having an entire engine built for it like IV, so that should mean more time to develop more frivolous, fun crap like was in SA.

Perhaps...

However, I'd give awkward and reluctant oral sex to anyone who could survive more than 20 minutes with a 6-star wanted rating in IV without using incredibly cheap tactics and making it no fun whatsoever. Even with the lame/impractical cell-phone cheats, it was hard for me to do anything like that.

Meanwhile, in SA and VC, I was a walking natural disaster. Shit was more fun imo, yo.

Yeah, one thing me and my friends like to do online is each get 5-6 stars, get into one car, and try to escape while being chased by an army of SWAT and overweight police officers. We usually die, but it leads to some fun times indeed.

Never played IV but played ballad of Gay Tony. Boring game. GTA Vice City/Vice City Stories and San Andreas were hugely entertaining, even when not doing missions. Although when playing San Andreas I always feel a small sadness inside.

I mean I guess it fit the feel of the game, but I never felt like an unstoppable badass like in San Andreas. I guess I just expected something different

Nah, that's cool. I realize that I'm in the minority that prefers IV over the other games. As such, I always get slightly annoyed and defensive when I see it get trashed, until I realize that it doesn't matter and get on with my day.

I always found it easier to survive on high stars on IV, and easier to escape. I think there were more things to do on it to buy time. SA was more fun to piss around on but I preferred the combat, driving and whatever on IV.
