im currently transcribing this song. so far ive guessed the opening chord is the basic Bm . and the key of the song is B, judging by the tonality minor aswell. can anyone tell me if im correct?

P.s ive posted some other songs with transcribing questions and a fellow user "mdc" has been very helpful. i hope you people dont mind my questions as i would be lost without the UG community

i've only listened to the beginning but it sounds like it's just Cm to Bb.

once the verse comes with the bass, there's actually an Ab(maj7) chord in there as well. the guitarist just keeps playing the same thing.

Cm = C Eb G
Abmaj7 = Ab C Eb G

EDIT: basically what i'm saying is you're right, if your guitar is tuned sharp.

Cm7 - Bb/F

Cm7 - F - Abmaj7 - Bb - Cm7

Ab - Fm - Bb - Fm - Ab - Fm - G7♯5

Cm - F

Chorus 3rd and 4th time

Cm - Ab - Fm - Bb
Cm - Ab - Fm - Bb - Bdim7

Solo chords as 1st chorus more or less.

Outro uses the Bdim7 again.

I might as well help.

If you need voicings tabbed out then just say.
The Bb/F is just a chord fragment in this case, to get the same sound as the guitarist, use this shape:

The following chords are ones that I assume you're not familiar with:

Abmaj7, G7♯5, Bdim7

Tune your guitar to A440 standard, otherwise you'll be a semitone out on everything. Unless your name is Martin Taylor, where A442 is the norm.

my guitar is in standard tuning. so basically i suck at this

Yeah you suck. But with hard work and dedication, you can do it. Freepower did, and now look where he is.

From what I remember in early threads years ago, he said he was, "almost" tone deaf to the point where he couldn't tell whether one note was higher than the other when given 2 notes a semitone apart.

Apologies in advance if that is not accurate FP.

But the point I'm trying to make, is that with hard work, perseverance and DESIRE to make things work, you can do it.
