So just under two years ago I bought an Ibanez Prestige RG2570Z.

It has been my primary guitar since then and it is probably the best instrument I have ever played. I love it to bits!

Anyway, I was considering swapping out the pickups to make a great guitar even better, however I couldn't decide exactly what I wanted. I tend to play a lot of progressive metal (Dream Theater, Protest The Hero), but I also play a lot of instrumental rock (Satriani, Vai). This left me with a dilemma of what pickups to choose.

Until.

I found an absolute bargain on eBay, and as I am getting some money through for my birthday next week I couldn't resist. This thing is brand new condition, played once and the guy decided to sell it for half the RRP.

Another Ibanez Prestige RG2570Z!

As you will notice I have also put a DiMarzio Crunch Lab and LiquiFire pickup set in, and it sounds incredible.

So as not to neglect my first RG2570Z, I also picked up a DiMarzio Mo' Joe and PAF Joe pickup set and installed them (I do not have a photo), so both guitars now have pretty different characteristics but are both equally awesome!

I am going to be recording with them fairly soon, and will post the videos in the tone demo thread.

They are fantastic, although I have only played them for a couple of hours. Huge upgrade from the stock ones.

Nah I have left the SCs stock. I don't use them that often, but I actually quite like the sound of them.

My purple one is not textured at all, the blue one is but it is only very slight.

Also cheers for the link, will be bookmarking that
