Hey guys saw this on craigslist a few days ago. Its a Ibanez jem of some sort, but theres a few things that threw me off.
At first by reading the post, and pictures, I could of swore it was a Jem 555.But when looking at the stock photos and the pics, there are some differences.
The jem 555 has the Vine inlay from 3-12 on the frets, and Steve vai on the 24th fret. This guitar has a vine from 1-12,and no steve vai logo on 24th.Confused much.
One thing also is that the trem is chrome, and the nut and tuners are gold...I dont understand this either
In his post he says its not a "true jem" and "at a fraction of cost" so I figured that it was the 555(honestly im hoping it is a 555)
I emailed him late last night and no reply still
Heres the link http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/msg/3664229411.html
Thanks for the help in advance

It could be a fake. The JEMs are pretty popular guitars for counterfeiting.

I'm no Ibanez expert though. I'm sure somebody will be able to help you out

This defo looks like a fake. The hardware is normally gold on the jems, plus that trem looks like a TRS system not the low pro edge. It looks this fella has been had and is now trying to pass it off to someone else. I'd stay well clear of it as i would the 555. The 555 is nothing but a glorified Rg350 and a hefty price increase.

I saw in a couple of pictures that on Bucketheads Les Paul (only some pictures) that his neck pickup is painted in white. Can anyone explain to me why he would do this, and if there are any pros and cons.

The guy wears a KFC Bucket and a white mask during performances, and you're interested in the color of his pickup covers?

It looks like a fake Jem 7V. A good fake but the tremolo arm isn't right for a JEM7V, the vine inlay is very hard to see low down the fretboard too.

Biggest thing is the tremolo arm, its gold and is a screw on like a schaller system, a real Jem would have a black trem arm with the pop in bushings seen on all the Edge Pro and Lo-Pro Edge systems.
