these are the cheapest i've found. can these be used for guitar? i'm not really sure which is why i'm asking...I want to wire my humbucker for parallel/series/single coil like the dimarzio wiring diagram i've seen on their site....will these work or do a need a different kind of switch? these are on-on-on

How thick is your guitar? Most likely mini's won't fit...

those switches would be fine for what you're trying to achieve

EDIT: listen to RV about thickness though, didn't realise those were minis not sub-minis

Not that thick, I don't know the actual thickness. But it uses short shaft pots. This would be too small? for a schecter omen 6

It might work. You are the only one who will know though. Pull a pot and see how thick. 6mm or under it should work just fine.

It's only about a mm or two taller than a submini. Wouldn't worry about that. They look like cheap crap though.

1. That is not cheap.
2. Why would you want a cheap one anyway?
3. Have you tried Radio Shack?

It's 5 switches for 7.99 or so. that's pretty cheap? Dimarzio ones cost 14 for a single one. I want a cheap 1 cus i'm cheap. I want the most for my money

Cheap switches do not give you the most of your money, the contacts can be dodgy/loose/partial and they break easily

Alright thanks. I didn't know they carried them. Guess i'll have to call and see if they have em in stock. I don't wanna go around to every radio shack in hopes that they have the one I want. I checked online but none of them say whether they are on/off/on or on/on/on . Ima call em and see

radio shack would likely carry them. DO NOT expect them to know anything though. they are more concerned about selling cell phones over anything else. 10 years ago radio shack guys knew a bit more. the last time i went in i asked for a 500k ohm resisters (or something) he bought me to the area and said look. then he said "what does that u shaped thing mean?" that was like the biggest facepalm ever for a radioshack.

and i agree with its not worth it to cheap out on a switch. they go out sometimes at a moment when they are depended on, making them somewhat unreliable (as is anything in general but to a greater extent cheap). and its just a pain in the ass to wire in a new one when you wouldn't necessarily need to.

I guess I won't cheap out then, ill l probably get a dimarzio switch or a better built, quality one. I read the reviews for those cheap switches alot of the people said they failed quickly or broke right away. So I guess forget radio shack.

Radioshack ones are generally ok. No way I'd ever spend 14 bucks on a dpdt.

on/on/on's usually cost a bit more because not everybody makes one. $14 for a decent one is not uncommon at all.
