Great cover! I'll admit that I have never heard the song previous to watching your video, but I checked out a live performance of the song in its entirety, and I must say that your tone matches quite well with theirs! Also, if you tabbed it out, you did an excellent job.

The only possible negative thing that I could think of for your video (although it is not guitar related) is your camera. It seems to have a low frame rate, which can be slightly distracting during those faster parts in the choruses. But the sound quality and playing are both great, so I'd say you're in pretty good shape in terms of those aspects!

And I agree, it's awesome to see a fellow Nebraskan on this site! Haha. Keep up the good work!

great sound. Maybe just a tad bit too dirty for this song, but whatever. in the second chorus, you kind of mess up the lead part, but it isn't too noticeable. you managed to pick another great song to cover man, good job.

That one note to me is super obvious. I knew that when i ended that take. It was good other than that section. If you listen to the original recording its a pretty thick tone, but I just had the tone set for the lead bits when i play dirty, so sometimes it winds up a bit muddy. I work on trying to get the strength of my picking just right so its not so muddy.

Straight off the bat, try to find some way to record that gives you a smooth frame rate, good video quality goes a long way and frame rate is especially important to people trying to learn from your videos. This might sound a little pedantic but try work on your left hand technique, you are moving much more than you need to especially with that hammer on riff. Turn up the amp a bit to drown out the string noise a bit, a little bit of string noise is good but it's too loud here. Other than that you have done a good job here, playing is exceptionally clean.

This video when I was rendering it took 3 hours, usually it takes only 30 mins or so, I think its got a lot to do with the size of the file I used for my audio. I used a really high bit-rate and wound up with a 30mb file. Not Ive gone back to 192 (I think, or 128) I cant remember and the videos seem to be smoother and not take hours to render. ill work on my volume and pick noise. I hate it as well. I want a usb mic for my amp, its my next purchase.

Yeah my fingers fly a bit more when im into it. lol.

Thanks!

Great playing dude, no problem with it. But I'd prefer a colored video to see the guitar in original color.

Sounds really good.

I didn't know this song before reading this thread, but it's pretty cool. Nice cover, although the timing seems just a tad off at times and there are a few parts where the playing could be smoothened out a bit. Also, I can kinda hear the strings being picked in the video, maybe record your amp a bit further away from the guitar next time? Other than these points I quite liked it! I actually thought the black and white color scheme was pretty cool. Keep it up!

Good stuff. Tone is a tad on the muddy side, though. Playing was clean and tight for the most part; just some timing issues on the 10-12 hammer part.

thanks for the crit ! never heard this song before. cool guitar tone, sounds like a pretty decent tune. one part that seemed off was the hammer on from 10 to 12. other than that good playing man !

Very good timing, Tone could use some change (but I didn't hear the original so that's entirely personal taste) sounds a bit rattly, but all in all, well played
