stellar man. love the grunchy tone. what are you playing through? the solo was spot on but i would've like to hear something a little more original for the second one even though i liked it.

My rig is in the my sig. But basically its a fender supersonic, Bassman Channel + boss SD-2 on the crunch setting for 90% of the video. Then the solos are on the morley had horsie wah (the first one) then the second solo is the super sonic burn channel, everything on 10, plus the sd-2 on crunch and the wah. Everything is recorded off my web cam mic picking up the ambiance of the room. I turn my amp up pretty high, and turn the camera mic to 50% volume and then I mix, and edit in reaper. If you notice you never heard much pick noise in my recordings, its cause my amps loud, ****ing loud.

I felt the solo I played varied enough from the original that it felt unique. I just played it twice to make sure I could achieve the same solo with the wah for consistency. Plus its different enough from the original IMO.

Thanks for the feed back.

Very good, Syd! Probably your best work yet. That gritty sound that most have complained about in your past covers really sounds great here. The wah pedal really gives it a 'kick', but in a good way. Normally I would say to move your camera upwards so we could see your whole body and guitar, but since you wanted to get the pedal in there, I can understand why you had that angle, so I'll it slide this time, haha. But otherwise, yeah, really good man. Looking forward to your next video!

Peep your totally correct on why I used that angle. I think Im gonna try shooting from above so my whole rig + me can be in the shot. I saw your CCR cover nice btw!

Thanks!

You know, I really love songs by the big Johnny Cash! Your tone is great - sounds great with the solo in particular, although I would have preferred some slight reverb. But your playing is great!

Perhaps you could incorporate use of a slide next time for a song like this? I think it would work really well and add another dimension to your playing (I have never used a slide, but it's an idea!).

Great work, and many thanks for your feedback on my cover. I've left a 'like' and comment on your video!
