I don't know the original very well, but the cover sounds really good. Timing seems spot on as well.

Clean playing and good timing. I would encourage you to start applying wide rock vibrato on the notes and see where that takes you. You have the solo down, so now try to bring in some of that vibrato, blend notes in together with some slides, and in the process add some more flavor. Best of luck.
