Hello

I was just wondering if it's okay for me to put my Gibson Les Paul Traditional in a Fender Metro Bass Gig Bag.
I know it's taller than the guitar itself, but other than that, are there any problems?

There should be no problems, but a Gibson Les Paul is a nice piece of kit so you can't be too careful, so a properly shaped and more protective bag/case is always advisable.
But boys will be boys and girls have those eyes
that'll cut you to ribbons, sometimes
and all you can do is just wait by the moon
and bleed if it's what she says you ought to do

Which gig bag do you recommend for the LP?
I was thinking of something like the CNB Gig Bag

Yep, CNB are a good make, so are Ritter (they may just be a UK brand)
or you could get a hardcase, less portable but ever more secure.
