I was an old mountain man I never heard the gospel.
But then in the winter of twenty-five a big ol’ grizz got me down.
Laying there in the snow, both legs broken I had no doubt I was done for.
But from somewhere I heard a voice that told me to stand up.
And it said…
Walk my son, walk all about, and sing of Jesus the man who is King.
So walk my son, walk all about. Walk my son, walk all about.

I walked to a town and to a place where they spoke of things, I’d never heard.
I got down on my knees and asked the lord to please change me.
The preachin’ man said a few words before I went in the water.
The old man was left right there, and once again the voice I heard.
And it said…
Walk my son, walk all about, and sing of Jesus the man who is King.
So walk my son, walk all about. Walk my son, walk all about.

Years have passed since that day and I’ve been walkin’ ever since,
Wanderin’ all across this fine country and spreadin’ the word to those who listen
Walked a thousand miles or tow, walked it without shoes, holding a bible in one hand
There will be a day when the good lord comes and extends his hand to take a walk
And he will say...
Walk my son, walk all about, and sing of Jesus the man who is King.
So walk my son, walk all about. Walk my son, walk all about.
