Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so redirect me if I am mistaken! I've recently started learning about jazz music and the several genres within it. I decided to tackle the Funk genre and created a backing track in that style. I have no drumming experience, so any comments on the drums in particular would be helpful

Chord Progression: Am7-G x16
Fmaj7, Am7, Fmaj7, Cmaj7, Fmaj7, Bbmaj7/D, F7/Eb, E#9

Damn that was funky. Just needs a super happy guy in the background playing sax on top now.

As for the drums, they good but you could cut down on some of the bass/snares so it's not just following the bass guitar.

Haha I'll ask my friend to play their saxophone over top of this and see what they think! Thanks for the suggestions about the drums, I simplified the bass/snares a bit more to make it sound more independent.
