I bought a Mountain M37 guitar in San Diego back in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Can't remember exactly when. It's in absolutely perfect condition, largely because it has been unplayed and kept in a hard case for the past 25 years.

I recently broke it back out, polished it up and put new strings on it. It really has a great sound.

Anyone know anything about this model guitar? Nicely built with spruce and mahogany. I'm told Mountains were pretty well crafted Japanese imitations of Martins back in the '70s & early '80s. Then the company was sold (to a Korean company?) and the production quality deteriorated. So I'm wondering if the one I have is the better Japanese version or cheaper later version.

It has Grover tuners, if that helps date it.
