I am interested in doing a project with this but I have some rules:

- The songs must be in a tuning lower than Drop F#, never higher;
- We are only allowed to use the open string, 1st fret, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14;
- The guitars must sound tiny and digital, and the drums have to be always boring breakdown beats. Fuck the bassist, hope he gets AIDS in his ass;
- Our vocalist must sound like every single modern "core" vocalist: annoying shouts for harsh vocals and whiny prepubescent clean vocals for the feelz;
- All of your songs must start off with a few bars of clean high notes with delay, before going into de djundjun;
- When this trend dies down, like modern "metalcore" and deathcore did, we must find and follow a new trend before it gets big so we don't get caught for being the trend whores we are.

If you agree to these rules, you must do a blood sacrifice to our overloards Periphery and Meshuggah. To complete the ritual get a 8 string and cut every string but the first.

EDIT: Oh shit, I missed the "solo" part of the thread title, but my proposal still stands

*How I Love Meshuggah essay*

Don't spare your love, and don't mess the guy's head. Thank you.

As for TS, I'd rather recommend looking for someone local, because most of people will most likely go for drum machine or seq for studio and session musician for gigs.

I'd go with making yourself as good as it only gets and making some demos. There's a good chance to be picked up by someone on Youtube or something if you really are good. Either way, I hope things work out, man. Good luck!

Hay man, So I can do guitars. But what about vocals? I'm pretty good at screaming and I'm learning clean singing as well. Iv got a decent home studio set up. You can listen to a couple of my old project here (forgive the harsh sound they are old)

and you can check out this djenty dubby song that I'm currently working on here.

Thing is, I love this type of music but I'm not a drummer and really don't enjoy making the drumbeats note by note in midi. So if you want to do a colab or something give me a shout

Couldn't recommend it higher. I also found it significantly more intuitive than Ableton, FL and Reaper. Only mainstream alternative is Logic Pro, which is mac only.

Funny story, I told my best friend the other day I wouldn't learn "Stay Still" by Blessthefall with him because of it's generic chord progression and octave riffs, and this song reminds me a lot of it
