I have a MacBook Pro which I've been told has software called Garage Band that I can use to record but I haven't messed around with it enough to figure it out yet, so I thought I would ask how others are doing it (other than taking videos on phones, tablets, etc).

Keep in mind, this is strictly for amateur and personal use.

Also, my acoustic guitar is not an Electric-Acoustic.

You'll need a mic for certain, then either a multitracker or an interface to hook up to your PC.

For recommendations, go to the recordings forum & read the sticky.

And note that your MacBook may not provide enough USB power for an audio interface that is USB powered - look for one that has a wallwart for power. (that came up elsewhere earlier today)
