I lost my virginity to that record. :O

But it was my favorite before that too.

In Rainbows is the result of Radiohead having a meeting, Thom going 'hey guys lets make the best ever Radiohead album', and they all jump to hi five and the camera freezes in mid air as an 80s montage begins of them creating the album.

IMO there are three tiers of Radiohead albums:
Tier 1-Ok Computer, Kid A, In Rainbows
Tier 2-The Bends, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, King of Limbs
Tier 3-Take a guess

Having said that each Radiohead album has its moments and anything of them could be my favourite (bar Pablo Honey of course). My favourite always changes.

I recognize that OK Computer and Kid A are influential and stuff, and OK Computer is still among their best, but I just do not like Kid A that much.

The only Radiohead albums I think i'll ever want to listen to again are IR, Amnesiac, and King of Limbs.

Are Radioheads ever gonna make a new album? Wait, let me check myself

In February 2013, Colin Greenwood said the band will be starting work on their ninth studio album at the end of summer.[108]

This. Listened to my IR vinyl today. It's pretty much flawless. The only weakish track is perhaps Faust Arp. Doesn't do much for me.

I will never understand PH hate. It's such a great standard rock album.

Because it's the only Radiohead that can be described as 'standard.'

But is diversity of style not one of Radiohead's celebrated qualities? I just think it's great for what it is, and it certainly beats generic rock giants like the Foo's and others in that category.

True, its not a bad album. It is a rather good 90s rock album. In fact if any other band had made it, it would have much more praise heaped onto it. Its just when you look at what Radiohead went on to accomplish, I think its safe to say almost every Radiohead fan can agree Pablo Honey was definitely Radiohead's 'worst' album, but thats only because the other albums are of such stratospheric quality.

I really like this band. I’ve discovered them with “Pyramid song” and bought the single (yes, at the time!) and the album. Then I borrowed the “Ok Computer” sheet music notes.
They really made huge and various songs.
To, the albums chart is:
1) The Bends
2) Ok Computer
3) Hail to the thief
4) Amnesiac (1st to be listened, so...)
5) In Rainbows
6) Kid A
7) Pablo Honey
8) King Of the Limbs.

For the songs and according to me, the best are: “Paranoid Android” of course, “Jigsaw Falling into Place”, “Street Spirit”, “Climbing up the walls”, “Everything in the right place”, “2+2=5”, “ There There”, “Videotape”, “Codex”...

I don’t really like the electronically part that was on Kid A or King of the Limbs, because I really prefer their energy and rock songs like “Just”, sad songs with acoustic instruments or intensity. But I thank them to explore some other directions.

Indeed, I can’t deny that. I’ve never said that Kid A was a bad album or something. “Idiotheque” is a powerful track. "How to Disappear Completely" is very good too. It’s just that I prefer their songs with guitar. However, I admit that Radiohead’s experimentations are good, but it’s a little far from the Radiohead I discovered and liked

The Bends used to be my favourite when I started out too but now it's a tie between Kid A/IR/HTTT.

I think Hail to the Thief is underrated, at least as much as any Radiohead album can be underrated. So many great songs on that album.

In Rainbows will always be king, though.

I honestly think if HTTT had cut maybe 5 tracks, it would be a genuine contender for best Radiohead album.

So underrated.

I do not find either the 5 titles to cut. Maybe 3 (“Go to sleep” (too easy), “The gloaming” and “Backdrifts” - there is something missing in those two experimental tracks to me).
But in the album, it gives little electronic breaks, so I wouldn’t throw it.

I can't remember the last time I listened to KOL. I can only remember really loving Codex. Forgot what else is on there.

Same thing for me. Codex is wonderful. The rest stays hard to enjoy.

King of Limbs From the Basement is better than King of Limbs. I just listen to that now.

Also, Kid A reigns over all.

I know these things to be true because I speak the the Truth.

Magpie live is the ****in best. It's so strange to me the transition that song made as a way to play it live, assuming they created the album recording first without knowing how they would adapt it.

The King of Limbs grooves so hard. I'm a huge fan.

Magpie is probably one of my least favorites off of TKOL, although the live version isn't too bad. I've always really liked Little By Little (particularly some of the live versions) and Seperator. Lotus Flower also really, really kicks ass live. They opened with it at the show I went to last year and the bass melted my face off.

edit: well shit, I just realized that said show was on this day exactly one year ago. time sure flies.
