Letur-Lefr is a fantastic listen!!

I'm confused as to why it's only 15 minutes, but he's John Frusciante, he can do whatever the heck he wants and it's alright.

It's only 15 minutes long cuz it's an EP, not an LP.

PBX is THE weirdest record i've ever listened to...

It needs time to grow on me I think.

Listened to it once thus far. Indeed it's strange, the weirdest album he's done since kicking heroin.

What a wonderful listen.
Damn Japan always getting to listen to interesting stuff earlier than others.

To me John is in top 20 of all guitarists of all time. He was inspired by Jimi Hendrix and his style is similar but more modern. His ideas inspire, his style or playing is like a virus that exposes brain to his needs John is good inspiration from whom to learn

Yiew mad I love John....does anyone know why his solo career isnt as famous as his Chili Pepper career I think he is very talented and deserves alot more recognision as a solo artist aswell!

John is a musical genius. I worship him as a guitarist and song-writer. I think he's not as a popular as he deserves because he shuns the spotlight/media and doesn't make any significant attempt to promote himself. He doesn't tour or even do many live shows, he doesn't go on Letterman etc. and play for national audiences, he doesn't do the festival thing. He's just a different cat that way with no desire for fame.

I was blown away by these two new records. John has really found a new depth of musical expression. He has brought together so many of his influences into these records...at a level I never thought possible. This is pure expression. Jimi had pure expression of his guitar and I believe John has now taken this idea further and reached a new level altogether...transcendent.

He is redefining what music can be. They might not click instantly but these are records made without fear of what people would think and so that is to be expected. Can you imagine if he died all those years ago?

Letur Lefr is pretty much the best thing ever!

I really enjoy PBX too. Anybody else think his next release won't be THAT far away? It might be 2004 all over again...

And the bonus track is a pretty nice 30 second ringtone and afterwards turns into ADD/tourettes style randomness

The man is my reason for picking up a guitar. The new stuff is rubbing off on me too, he just makes honest music. The Empyrean changed my life.

So very recently these new interviews with John just came out. Check them out. There is some really heavy stuff in them. The first one is from the Outsides EP Japanese booklet and the second is from an interview that Billboard did with him.

Me too, mate.

He really won me over with Shadows Collide With People. I mean, I liked the weird stuff too, but SCWP was the perfect balance of him being experimental within reason haha.
