^ That's an odd tuning! Don't think I've ever seen that before.

As you've probably guessed by now, I've never learnt that either. Only ever worked out one Owen song ('she's a thief') and only for that beautiful little riff. Did it with a capo on the 7/8th fret from what I can remember - unlike the chords on here.

And Playing Possum For A Peek.

EDIT:

if you guys haven't seen it, I was on Owen's myspace and the about me section will give you a bit of a chuckle.

but along those lines, where can I find this cover of Never Meant? It didn't seem like it was up on his myspace...?
nevermind, I found it.

but happy Owening anyways.

Any possibility you could share it with me?

I just searched "Never Meant" on myspace music. there's a couple so it's like the fifth one down, but it's not that hard to find that way.

he was very kind, honest, and jokeworthy when i spoke to him before a concert about two years ago. damn he makes some great music. the main riff of "ghost of what should have been" is hypnotizing.

If anybody has a better tabs for Owen's Put Your Hands On Me, please post. There's one out there on the Internets, but it's pretty inaccurate (even the author says so).

Thanks!

so kids, shall we speak more of Mike Kinsella?

Who Found Whose Hair in Whose Bed is the song currently stuck in my head

Godamnit hes on tour, and hes not coming near MD

He is for me, which surprised the hell out of me. But not close enough..
Not to mention my lack of funds.

I've heard the album At Home With Owen. It's good but it seems kind of samey. Are the other albums different?

I absolutley love Owen, and every thing Mike Kinsella does.

I actually just bought a used copy of "The EP" a few months back.

Super bump.

Driving about three hours to go see this man on saturday. Very excited
#145
I don't think the Kinsella's are capable of making non-amazing music haha.

He may be a troll, but he's an incredibly successful troll. So kudos on that.

Listened to it for the first time yesterday, it's pretty solid. I mostly liked every song on the album but love is not enough was the only one that really stood out to me.

I dunno though, I think I just need to give another listen.

I was on an adult webcam site the other day. Out of nowhere some dude said "LISTEN TO MIKE KINSELLA". I laughed. Thought you guys should know...

Blues To Black has become one of my favorite Owen songs, the guitar work in that song is just perfect. Especially the acoustic version.

I've been working on a tab for that version, its just the outro that i haven't figured out yet.

many thanks for posting this! I heard that he did the whole thing for daytrotter and was sad because I have no desire to pay for daytrotter. (though I probably should. it got me into a lot of music back in the free days.)

never thought to look on youtube.

edit: also, this version is really great.
