WHAT THE HELL, GUYS?

Ever heard of Carcass? Who are they? Oh, just one of the best, most innovative and most influential death metal/grindcore bands EVER. What did they do? Oh, just invented the genre of Melodic Death Metal with the album Heartwork.

45 Posts and no Carcass. Get the hell out of my Pit.

Don't they have the bassist doing the vocals?
And one of the guitarist doing the backings?

Sonic Syndicate..

Scar Symmetry now has 2 vocalists. Should be interesting to see what the new album turns out like.

I've always thought it'd be cool to be in a band with one operatic singer, one vocalist doing growls and one vocalist doing Devy Townsend - style thrashy screamed vocals, all of them playing other instruments as well.

Rolo Tomassi - Jazz/Grindcore act, female dedicated vocalist (tiny little 18 yr old hot chick who screams like a mofo, and has a beautiful melodic voice) and male keys/vox (her brother, screams and spoken words) they fackin own...

shadow duet by dark tranquility uses two vocalists. its got both anders friden and mikael stanne but i think stanne might have been the rythym guitarist at the time.

Dammit, you beat me to it!

Yes, Stanne also played guitar back then but Shadow Duet is a good example of a melodic death metal song with two people equally sharing vocal duties.

As long as both vocalists are easily distinguishable I think it's awesome.
It's sad walking in a venue while a band is playing and not even noticing there are two vocalists until you notice the other guy lol.

I was surprised that no one had mentioned Scar Symmetry right off the bat, but now I realize that this thread was necro'd from 2009.

For the most part, having one dedicated vocalist is best. Some bands can pull off 2. 3 is too much.

Really, if you need extra vocal parts, I personally favor a lead singer and background singers.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are more progressive/avant garde metal, but everybody in the band sings at one point or another. Not necessarily what you are looking for exactly but you should check them out anyway because they are really good.

I'm sure that's only live. Trevor Strandt records all of the vocals in the studio, high and low.
