I hate the new album so much...Mark should sing a lot more and Tom a lot less. Tom shouldn't have a majority of the vocals, his voice is terrible. Mark needs to get (+44) back together.

The new album is awesome IMO. But, I think Tom's voice has actually improved. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer this voice to the pre-Enema stage. I just can't stand his voice on Dude Ranch and Cheshire Cat. I like his voice in Enema too.

And well, Mark's voice is awesome really. Although, I have a question for anyone playing bass.
Do you get bored playing to Blink-182 songs? XD

The new one's definitely a grower, but I still like the songs that sound like old blink the most. I think Tom's gotten better at singing too, at least now he doesn't sound like he's 9.

Far as the bass parts, a lot of their hits are pretty dull, but some songs like Mutt and Peggy Sue have some pretty fun parts. Not to mention Carousel.

The new album is okay.. It just took some time to grow on me.

The bonus track "Even if She Falls" is the only song I really like though.

When I first heard Neighborhoods, I have to say I wasn't that impressed but as the months have gone by I've given it more time and it has definitely grown on me. It's not exactly a masterpiece but it has some pretty decent tracks on it.

I have however, been disappointed with the music videos they've put out so far.
#3131
I agree with everything in your post but I thought the girl in the 'After midnight' video was super cute.

Up All Night is the only song I've heard off of Neighborhoods, out of laziness, but I liked it.

agree with you .. the first listen is not those catchy riff like enma of the state or toypaj ... but you need a few listen to appreciate it .

but im still a old schooller and prefer my old blink 182 era ( chesire cat , dude ranch) .. to their new stuff .

agree with tr3nt that wrecked him was a good song .

I thought it was hilarious that it sounded like "All Star".

Good joke, Blink. Good joke.
#3137
I thought about posting it but I thought nobody would care.

I like it. It's a good pop song and is way better than most of Neighborhoods. I'm looking forward to this EP. This band suddenly got way better this year (their European tour this summer looked way better and more varied than what I saw last year).

Edit: The verses are a bit cheesy though.

What is this even? I love 'Neighborhoods', this 'Boxing Day' nonsense is just nonsense.

they should have stuck with their post pop punk sound on their untitled because this isn't good.
#3141
Yeah the post pop punk sound was way better. I was just excited at first because this at least sounds like a coherent song compared to a lot of Neighborhoods. I don't think it's horrible though, just cheesy and plain, and I'm sure the rest won't sound like this (they've been hinting their new music will be heavier and more Box Car Racre/untitled esque than Neighborhoods). This song is hopefully a one off 'experiment' since it's basically a Christmas song.
#3143
Just based on the preview, I already don't like this EP. I think Boxing Day is good-ish and Pretty Little Girl sounds like it will be my favorite out of the 5. I don't like the first two songs.

-When I Was Young sounds way too much like Dry Your Eyes (Not sure if its that one, but its definitely just an AvA song with Mark singing). Chorus sounds amazing though, so thats a good note.

-Dogs Eating Dogs was promising until they got to the "Dogs eating dogs, dogs eating dogs, dogs eating dogs" lines. They sound ugly to me. The chorus does sound pretty good, especially the break the first one with the tremolo on the guitars<333

-Disaster sounds okay I guess, but again, it reminds me too much of AvA. Mark's vocals do add a nice touch. Not too much else to say about it.

This is all coming from a guy who has purchased and loved every Blink, BCR, +44, and AvA album. Still love the band, but I don't know if this will do it for me.

EDIT: Its also been pointed out to me that the verse of When I Was Young sounds like Everything's Magic. I hate being that guy this time around, but I'm getting tired of all of the re-used stuff. As a bonus I made it kind of easier on the eyes.

Yeah probably. I kind of like the first three songs though.

Also keep in mind that the were written very quickly and this was all rushed just a few weeks ago to be out by Christmas as a 'bonus' of sorts. The full length might be way better, but it'll probably be like this. I'm a fanboy so I'll listen to it either way, although my fanboyism is decreasing.

When I was told this should have stayed dead I thought you meant the band, not the thread. I should have realised that was a hint to stop posting.

I'm going to get shit for this but I kind of like the EP. There's good moments (like the Disaster intro) but overall it feels uninspired. If it felt inspired it could have been pretty good. ¯\_(ツ_/¯ With that said I don't see myself listening to it unless I'm on a blink binge and I get bored of the untitled album.

Also the artwork is pretty lame.

that post embarrassing sense I've reverted back to my stance that the self-titled album is really the only good thing they did.

Tom leaving in the same way he did last time is petty but I'm more laughing at this whole thing than anything else.

****ing lol this is so much better than the last breakup.

I think if blink was just Mark + Travis + various collaborators to 'fill in' for Tom it'd be better than what they've been doing but we don't even know what's really going on so idk.

i stumbled across a weird video this morning that was posted recently of some (seemingly) unknown guy claiming he is blink's new guitarist.

any one know more about this?
