Yeah they focus on the Conqueror stuff live, but played a few choice cuts from the rest of their material.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

Zoroaster are pretty good, they sound like a Bongzilla/Om mesh. Not the ideal band to pair with TGoS, but enjoyable nontheless.
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

Yeah Zoroaster are cool, theyre coming over here with Nachtmystium and Absu soon enough.

I'm going specifically to see Zoroaster. Never got into TGoS, probably cause they didn't sound like Cianide from the 30 seconds I heard.

That is the stupidest reason for not listening to a band I've ever heard. Way to go...

Yes, I obviously wasn't expecting them to sound like Cianide since they definitely aren't influenced by them

No shit. How would I have known that if I had never listened to them before then? I was in the mood for Cianide at the time, so I didn't bother to pick up any of their albums. Ok sweety?

Sick cover art as expected. I predict this album being one of my top 3 of the year, alongside Altar of Oblivion's masterpiece.

New album is killer, not as good as Conqueror but still deadly. Moves away from what little doom was left on Conqueror, just class heavy metal this time.

Agreed.

I would say that this might be their most consistent album yet, but doesn't quite reach the highest points achieved on Conqueror and some of Suffer No Guilt. Having said that, this album destroys and will no doubt be high on my list of the best 2009 releases.

I've been listening to through their discography in preparation for seeing them in two weeks and Hymns Of Blood And Thunder has become my favourite in their oeuvre. What a monster of an album!

I doubt The Wretch will be anything short of brilliant either.

I got The Wretch for free with a subscription to Terrorizer.
I have to say I'm rather impressed. I'd written them of in the past as a band I wouldn't be into, but I kind of wish I hadn't now, as they seem really good.

Both.

Hymns Of Blood & Thunder is more uptempo overall.

As much as the whole Scion things annoys me for some reason, they don't half put out some quality releases in all genres. Looking forward to listening to this.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.
#72
Yeah, I know what you mean about he Scion thing. It shouldn't annoy me as its good bands and free music, yet you can't help but feel you're in some small way selling your soul to the man in return haha

Listening to it now I'm liking what I'm hearing. Seems to be a continuation from The Wretch in terms of the sound, which pleases me as I really wasn't overly keen on their sound prior to that album.
#74
I think I have missed out on a good band...should start now I suppose...listening to a couple of their tracks from the Hymns album after reading some of the posts above.
