Hey doods, need advice.

I have a Powerball 1 v2 and I absolutely love it. I got with the standard Z-5 footswitch but like the idea of incorporating midi effects into my rig (probably a tc g major or something).

From what I can understand, the Z-15 is the only MIDI footswitch that will operate as intended with the mk1 Powerball (please correct me if I'm wrong), and as I am looking at using the Z-15 for control over midi and amp channel switching my question is this:

Can the Z-15 be used to recall midi patches AND switch channel simultaneously with one button? For example (put simplistically) have 'Patch A' stored as clean Channel I (amp) with reverb, delay, chorus, whatever (midi), and 'Patch B' as hi gain Channel II (amp) with comp, ts, eq, whatever (midi), and be able to switch between them with one stomp (as you would with a digital multi fx patch).

In other words what I'm looking to do is assign effets to each channel that get changed as you swap channels, much like you would with a channel dedicated fx loop.

Surely the Z-15 can manage this? Is is it down to the capability of which ever effects processor I go for?

Would love to see some more activity in this thread. Love this brand. Here's my Engl Powerball and ibanez iron label 7. Just doing some improv riffing. Have had the engl for about a year now and still love it.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Thanks man, i appreciate the compliment. Ive seen some other players on the ol youtube REALLY do this amp justice. If youre tasteful with your gain and eq, the leads are so fluid and thick. Focus switch owns for leads. I might do another video later with some more lead work and literally just flip the focus switch on. My playing lately has been very sloppy though. All my energies get spent getting better at mixing and mastering lately.

P.s. somebody in ug has GOT to have purchased the new Invader II. I really want them to show it off here.

Engl has been my favorite line of amps for some time now (even before I first started playing them, I was hooked on the aesthetics and audio clips of them). Anywho- almost always when I research the models, old forums pop up regarding the original east coast retailer of Engl amps, (as well as other high end amps) Rocksolidamps.com. I think this website came and went before I even really started getting into playing guitar unfortunately; but at the time, it looked like it was probably a glorious site.

Long story short- I used an internet time machine to go back and check it out in its hayday. I managed to load up the old page of sound clips for the original powerball, fireball, savage, savage se, thunder ect ect. Thought it would be cool to link/share and maybe revive some interest. Some of the clips are quite good. Hopefully this link works and hasnt been posted yet:

Nice! Some of these are the same as the ones at tonefinder?

No idea. I think they originated at rocksolid, based on the comments for all of the clips. Just an fyi- he mentions double micing his cab in nearly every recording. Not sure what mics, or where he put them, but the double mics seem to make it sound huge in the recordings. Traditionally, ive only single mic'd and it sounded pretty good/okay. I might try double going forward though.

excellent, great work I remember that site, as you said, some of the clips were really pretty sweet. IIRC some of the splawn clips were really nice as well. EDIT: found it http://rocksolidamps.com/MP3/Splawn%20Schmitt.mp3">https://web.archive.org/web/20060515072123/http://rocksolidamps.com/MP3/Splawn%20Schmitt.mp3 wow that one takes me back, i used to listen to that one a lot
