What's on it?

It takes my shitty computer too long to go through the whole process of downloading and then transferring the file in a different type or w/e. So I tend to find the songs on Youtube, or w/e.

I have them all except of Shake and Derek Trucks. I don't have any DT stuff, my brother's got a few albums on his laptop, from a friend but I don't actually own any, unfortunately. Something I need to rectify soon.

OK I'll throw my hat in the ring. I don't thinks that blues regulars will find any thing new.

lol, yeah, my roommate in Calgary had a whole bunch of albums and he had a bunch of old blues stuff, when i moved out he gave them to me, I got Robert Johnson's complete recordings on vinyl, as well as a Yardbirds Album, and a best of freddie king on vinyl

that album is awesome, most of it is just Fred talking and playing slide at the same time, but it's so interesting to hear his thoughts on the blues

This died a while ago, but I thought we could bring it back. We've got some new regulars now. So even those in the John Mayer thread can contribute.

It doesn't have to be blues or jazz, *almost* anything goes . It can be anything. Keep it to 30/40 minutes and keep the files small and easy to access.

As in:

I think I used to have it, now that I think about it.

I haven't been able to get my hands on any Charley Patton, yet, though.

The Canned Heat version is excellent, though.

Can I just say, over the last month or so I have downloaded the "Radio Shows" and my only problem with it is this,,,,,,

Surely this is too good to be true? Not that anyone can really claim this, but, I thought I had a fairly good grasp on Blues but I was wrong, some of the songs you guys have included have blown me away as much as the first time I heard (insert your blues hero here) for instance,

So just a big thanks from me for taking the time to do this sort of stuff. You have an avid UG blues radio listener here and I await the next show.

Looking to show off your musical talent and get exposure?

Hoping to increase your name recognition as a musician and to grow your fan base?

Four UC Berkeley students and I are launching a unique music website which will allow musicians to compare their music to other songs of the same genre in a way never done before. Bands and individual artists will be able to promote their music and show viewers of the site what they believe are the best 15 seconds of their songs so that those 15 seconds can be faced off against the best 15 seconds of other songs. Viewers will be able to quickly listen to the best segments of multiple songs and vote on what they like the most. For every song that a viewer votes for they receive the information about the band/musician so that they can find more of your music and every vote helps a band make their songs trend so that they become the top 10 highest voted for the day! The site will be completely free and will be open to artists of all genres. We are looking for artists who would like to be apart of the opening of this site. We truly believe that there are amazing artists out there who aren't receiving recognition for their amazing songs and we believe this site will get music listeners listening to smaller bands and enjoying it! Anyone who is interested in showing their musical talent and would like to be apart of this venture please email heatupmusic@gmail.com for further information. We just want to spread good music because that is what we love!

could use some practice with a metronome^ but real good, I like to practice a lot of Chet stuff so I know how damn hard the really fast complex bits can be. But it's the sort of thing where it just doesn't have the same effect unless it's 100% clean and perfect like him.

anyways I've been curious to know, anyone here familiar with Kid Andersen? Norwegian dude that relocated to the states in 2000 to tour with Terry Hanck, and settled down in San Francisco Bay Area. Also ended up replacing Little Charlie of the Nightcats and is now the guitarist for Rick Estrin & The Nightcats. My brother has been working for him for a few years, and I swear this isn't a personal bias, because I actually was very much resistant to my brother's praises about the guy, and tried my hardest to not be impressed. That was maybe two years ago. Today I seriously think this guy is the best damn blues guitarist on the planet today, and one of my favorite and absolute best musicians I've seen with my own eyes.

He's turned his house into a studio in San Jose called Greaseland and has been putting out phenomenal records there with lots of great players he knows like Jim Pugh of the Robert Cray band and generally stellar players with ridiculous track records. It's hard to find a definitive video or song that shows why the hell this guy is the best but here's a few if anyone cares to try em. You might just find you agree with me.
