I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to do pinch harmonics without using a pick. I have no trouble doing it with a pick but I've decided to focus on finger style for convenience sake. I've had no trouble learning sweep picking or relatively fast runs while playing finger style but I can't quite get good sounding pinch harmonics.

Not really my area of expertise, but one of the tutors at my uni grows the nail on his thumb and uses that as a pick, so maybe use that as a starting point?

id assume hold your fingers so your pointer finger is like a pick, then do what you would as if you were doing a normal pinch harmonic

Man, thank God the russians created UG. Otherwise, how would I have gotten this information?

That's what I've been trying but they aren't as clear. I've seen some guitarists do them perfectly though.

Maybe you should place one finger (I'd do it with the index finger, but use whatever's most comfortable) lightly on the string and pick with another finger. Cuz basically, that's what we do with a pick. Just we're picking with a pick obviously.

Look up "artificial harmonics".
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

This is what my teacher taught me actually. Touch the string with the index finger and pick the string with the middlefinder (for example).
