Hey all,

I've been interested in buying the Line6 POD HD500.

Doing this will drown my complete budget though, which left me wondering, what will I use as speaker?

I know a PA system with PA speakers is optimal but I have absolutely no money for that.
I also know that headphones is a good substitute but with the money I have currently I'll just end up with low-end headphones which will leave me with horrible audio quality.

The only thing I have right now is a Fender Frontman 25R amplifier. My question is,
can I just plug my guitar into the POD and plug that straight into my amp?

I'll use the POD mostly for effects.

Is it possible to use my current amplifier in combination with the POD?

Thanks in advance!

Awesome, thanks!

Will I then also be able to use the HD amp models on the POD or will that sound odd since it will be going trough another amp afterwards?

Thanks!

Use the clean ch and put the eq knobs at 12 o'clock and use the pod's eq. It wont sound 100% of what it can, but it will be a huge upgrade in sound from what your used to now. And when you get a better amp down the road you'll be set.

Awesome dude, thanks for the reply.

I'll be going to college soon though so I'll just invest in a good set of headphones so I won't bother my roommates and surrounding rooms.

I just got my HD500 yesterday, I already have a good amp but i needed something to play with when everyone is sleeping and for recording. I have to say its extremely versatile and the sounds you get from it are quite awesome. Its money well spent so go for it.

You may also want to disable speaker cab emulation, which is usually done when running through a guitar amp. That will do just fine though... flat EQ on the clean channel of a 25 watter.
