I'm not a big trash fan but Kreator, Voivod, Destroyer 666, Megadeth, Carnal Forge, and Sodom are some of my favourites. You guys have any recommendations based on that?

King Diamond

If King Diamond's Thrash Britney Spears is NS black metal from Oslo.

I agree. Annihilator are pretty sweet. Anything else?

Heathen?

Haven't heard much from them, but what I did was decent.

Overkill and Metal Church aren't a bad choice to check out either.

OOH!!
Mother fucking Sarcófago(thank morbid_death for that one).

King Diamond is trash metal with black metal and a few other metal sub-genres combined.

Now you call the King trash?!?!?!?

@ The Casualty: Thanks, I'll try Overkill. I listen to Metal Church and Sarcófago already.
@ SorrowIsMe: What the hell?

Fine if you guys say so...I fail at trash anyhow. King Diamond is mentioned as 'trash metal' a lot though.

Anyway you guys could check out Holy Moses, Infernal Majesty, Thanatos, Tankard, Sadus, Coroner, Artillery, Celtic Frost

*Waits for the massive Dark Angel Rulezzors club...*

For all it's worth, I trully think that Metallica were the best Bay Area band.
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

**** YEAH!

Onslaught are reasonably good.

EDIT: Back to Annihilator for a minute:

ANNIHILATOR NEWS: 02/19/07 -

Annihilator is considered by many to be the perfect example of an intelligent, sweaty, ever surprising metal act, having released a number of classics à la Alice In Hell, Never, Neverland, King Of The Kill, Carnival Diablos, Schizo Deluxe and others over the years. In April 2007, after a full year of writing and production, Annihilator will release Metal.

Metal’s ten new tracks were recorded by Jeff Waters (guitar, bass and lead vocals on one song), drum legend Mike Mangini and Dave Padden (long-time vocalist and touring guitarist/vocalist). Metal also features sensational performances by some of metal’s finest players and Annihilator’s good friends, like Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom), Danko Jones (Danko Jones), Michael Amott and Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy), Corey Beaulieu (Trivium), William Adler (Lamb Of God), Jeff Loomis (Nevermore), Jesper Strømblad (In Flames), Steve ´Lips` Kudlow (Anvil), Anders Bjørler (The Haunted), Mike Mangini (Steve Vai, Extreme, Annihilator), Jacob Lynam (Lynam) and more.

In view of these impressive omens, one should tend to believe Waters when he states: “Metal is going to be known as one of the coolest guitar albums out there but this is also one of the best-written records in my career; something that you can never achieve if you try… it just happens!”

Jeff Waters on the straightforward and unambiguous album title, Metal: “The new album reminds me of the first four Annihilator records. It’s then tempting to think that I’m looking back artistically, when the opposite happens to be the case. But it’s a fact that I composed the new material the same way I went about the early Annihilator tracks. This record combines many of the diverse styles you will find in metal music done our way. Annihilator Metal”

April will see Annihilator embark on a major European tour as Trivium’s very special guests, playing over 40 shows into June in countries such as Germany, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Italy and France and then summer festival shows to follow.

Metal will be released April 11 in Japan (King Records), April 12 in Australia/New Zealand (World Riot Distributors), April 13 in Germany (SPV Records) and on April 16 in the rest of Europe (SPV Records).

TRACK LISTING:

01. Clown Parade – feat. Jeff Loomis (Nevermore)
02. Couple Suicide – feat. Danko Jones (Danko Jones) & Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy)
03. Army Of One – feat. Steve ´Lips` Kudlow (Anvil)
04. Downright Dominate – feat. Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom)
05. Smothered – feat. Anders Bjørler (The Haunted)
06. Operation Annihilation – feat. Michael Amott (Arch Enemy)
07. Haunted – feat. Jesper Strømblad (In Flames)
08. Kicked – feat. Corey Beaulieu (Trivium)
09 . Detonation – feat. Jacob Lynam (Lynam)
10. Chasing The High – feat. William Adler (Lamb Of God)

What do you think?
NOPE.

I don't really know that much thrash but could you lead me to some decent thrash with great guitar riffs and a sense of melody
#24
I love the Thrash. Kreator, Dark Angel, Testament, Exodus, etc etc. On topic, that track list looks nice, except for the Trivium one doesn't seem promising.

When I saw them live they were both terrible. Thusly, I walked out on them and met Amon Amarth.

My friend says they were shit when he saw them, too.

I'm trying to get tickets to see Gojira and Machine Head next week and they'll probably be shitty again if I see them there..

Hes a good guitarist and he has stated very often that he is a HUUUGE Jeff Waters/Annihilator fan.

Anyway I love the Thrash, although I prefer more well known bands (Megadeth, Metallica[thrash metallica]) to the more less known bands (although these are great too)

EXODUS!!

He actually did SOME good solos when I saw them open for the Iron Maiden but Matt Heafy or whatever his name is... his solos were HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!!

There's a pretty sick thrash outfit that plays in my area a lot.

Fog of War myspace

I saw them open for Death Angel once and another time at a crappy local venue that smelled like piss.

Heathen (I cannot believe how unappreciated they are on this forum), Dark Angel, Nuclear Assault, Andralls, and early Sepultura

Listened to them a while ago. Cool stuff, but wasn't really interested in the vocals. I'll give them another try though.

Do you know Destroyer 666? They're quite good.

What do you guys think of Helstar? I haven't heard them, but I've been getting mixed reactions about them.

I did. They be, if not my favorite, one of my favorite Thrash bands. The New Order is excellent.
