agreed, his music sounds bad, but his playing is good.

Its not about the Radio its about talent, the front man has a bigger vocal range than Micheal Jackson and he can sing from heavey metal to high pitched ...No.12 on the top 20 under rated guitarists of ALL TIME...etc

1-Bloodavian 0-Forkman.

I was gonna say Marty Friedman, but I guess Batio is faster..

But well... music is not sports, it doesn't really matter who is fastest.
My Gear:

-Ibanez SZ 320 (Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz)
-Laney LC 30-II tube combo
-Yamaha C-40
-Suzuki steel string acoustic

+Lots of effect pedals and other crap..
Rusty Cooley isn't my favorite, but he is incredibly fast.

Michael Romeo owns MAB, imo. That man is so clean, AND fast. How I wish I could have his pinky.
Can I be the first to say speed isn't everything? Where's the emotion in these guys, they're just robots!

+2............check out guitar world mag july issue. yngwie is on the cover. and shawn was the fastest at 18 notes per second. rusty cooley 16 nps, Batio 16 nps, romeo, gilbert, yngwie 15 nps.
I've seen MAB play in person and I thought it was very impressive. I also saw Buddy Guy recently (a blues player) and I thought Buddy Guy was just as impressive especially with his singing skills.

i love how people get so off topic

idk, there is some guy that can hit like 48 notes a sec on youtube

Better than hooked on crack, I suppose. I'd rather know my kids are safe at home beating their meat than out in the world robbing old women for their crack fix.

What a huge coincidence. I have a butthole also.
Buckethead. 15.47 notes per second.

Count a second.

Now count one forty-eight of a second.

I really doubt someone could play that.

Joe Satriani.

He has the legendary power of playing extremely fast without making just ramdom sounds
There's this dude on j00tube called Francesco something, and he's one of the fastest in the world, but I think the fastest in the world is this Brazillian man, also on youtube.

There's a thread on this in the shred forum

Seriously, if your going to actually pull NPS stats why the hell would you pick someone in the 15 NPS range, when there's alt picking in the 18-19 nps range, legato in the 20-22 nps range, and sweeping and tapping in the upper 20s and possibly even into the low 30's.
As absent mind posted, everything you could need to know is in there. Enjoy. No idea why no one even seemed to notice his post even though it answered the question better than any other posts in the thread thus far.

Not worth counting as:
A: The sound quality on the video is too poor to get a TRULY accurate reading.
B: His tone sounds relatively masking of mistakes and inaccuracies.
C: There's a 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999.............9% chance that his claims of 58 nps and such are total BS (I'd say 100% but technically you can't ever really be sure.
D: Previous efforts to clock his speed concluded that it was relatively sloppy play ing at roughly 16 notes per second.
Daniel Owens--BS
Marcus Paus--BS
Leandro Lemos--Long time since I've looked at his so I don't remember his claim but I believe it was BS too.
Tiago Della Vega--Combination of BS and debatable claims.
Francesco Fareri--Debatable about just how fast but pretty f***ing fast either way, and he's been getting better since his stuff was initially brought up for discussion a few years back.

There are your main ones that spark debate and such. I recommend the list I posted a link to for those wanting reasonable, accurate measurements. However as mentioned, Fareri is in there and his is somewhat debatable.

Idk. I can't stand MAB, his songs just sound like random noise.

Excuse me? I don't know how hard you've looked, but MAB has plenty of musical stuff that isn't just him showing off. 2x Again? Rain Forest? Enough Is Enough? Avalanche? To name a few. The point is, if all of Batio's songs are just random noise, then the same can be said about every artist who has fast songs.

So as I'm not totally off topic... Er, actually, I have nothing to contribute. I don't know or care who the fastest is.
How about the guy who got into the World Record books for being...oh yeah... world's fastest guitarist....
