So, I was thinking of getting a wireless cable for my guitar, not only to "free myself" up on stage, but also to eliminate the jumble of wires that I have to deal with, on stage, in transport, and in my room.

What is your opinion on wireless cables, and which do you recommend, and why?

I don't know any brands or modles but I would suggest ensuring that you get a decent one, they can destroy tone if they're badly made.

Sennheiser is a pretty good brand.

However you're going to need a rather high budget (at least $200 if you want to get something thats even half decent) no matter what brand you go with.

yea I was thinking the same thing...what in the world is a "wireless cable"? lol

TS, I've used the line6 units before and they are nice for the price. Check reviews on the net for them as well

Wireless Cable?
If you start a reply with: I have never played one but I have heard good things about it! Your opinion is invalid.
