Today, President-elect Obama will record the weekly Democratic address not just on radio but also on video -- a first. The address, typically four minutes long, will be turned into a YouTube video and posted on Obama's transition site, Change.gov, once the radio address is made public on Saturday morning.

Hopefully... he won't.

He's definitely doing a great job at reaching out to the people. Like he said in his speech, he thanks all that voted for him, but he will try and win the respect of those who didn't.

Do you really see McCain doing this? He doesn't even know how to use "the e-mail" he's probably think the thing was stealing his soul.

Wait no, that last part would be Palin.

I heard Obama was gonna ask Hillary Clinton to be his secretary.

How incredibly sexist.

He sounds like he's still trying to win the presidency.

No, it sounds like he's trying to encourage transparency and keep in touch with the people, particularly the younger generation.
FDR did it, remember the fireside addresses?

I wouldn't start that if I were you.
Besides, by then, he'll be like 76. I don't think there's a chance of him running.

Of course Just trolling about.

But on topic: I think this is a very cool idea. Apparently McCain didn't even use computers because of some war injury?

Yeah. I was thinking about that after he got elected actually and was hoping he'd do something like this.
I think its a very smart move, and I am very glad.

I voted for McCain, but damn, I'm excited about this Negro, I thinkkk he might be good for this country after all...

Though I'm not American, I still feel this is a good idea. Even if he doesn't say much in it, it at least helps to stop distancing the events in Washington from the rest of your country.

Possibly, it could evolve to be more like the current UK system, where the PM also addresses popular questions from the YouTube users (obviously sensible ones). It isn't a massive step, but it makes them more than a name in some distant city.
