I hate the epiphone headstock. I prefer the scroll shape of the Gibson. I decided to reshape my epiphone headstock but kept the logo since I don't want to deceive anyone. Anyway it was a nice inlay.

Here are the pics...out of order, but I think you can figure out how it was done...

Very nice I've always hated the Epi headstock too, and I've told myself that if I ever get one I'd do that.

Dude I got these strings the other day that couldn't be tuned to higher than 4 octaves below middle C then I realized that they were shoelaces and they weren't making any sound at all.

howed you get the paint to match that well?

Its basically black oil wood dye from Stewart MacDonald used for fretboards. I used mahogany scraps to match the wood. Then Spray over with clear lacquer about 5 coats.

I never meant it to be a fake. I will use it as one to bang around. I have several LP's but I don't like the aesthetics of the epi headstock.

Could be done but 1000% more difficult. There would be 2 options:

1. Reshape it and leave the binding off. Looking like a LP standard after filling in the binding channel with something like black epoxy.

2. Reshape and put on all new binding. (More difficult)

But with patience it could be done

Same here. I own a Gibson Custom Shop... but I prefer the Epi headstock!

Eh. You've done a good job there, and it's nice you kept the original Epiphone logo rather than covered it up with some fake Gibson logo or something similar. And I think if that headstock was offered on Epiphones stock, I can see that selling really well. I don't think I'll be doing that to my own Epi though!
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.
