I'm trying to write a little solo for a song. I'm difficulty finding a way to improvise over the top of it. The closes i've come is using A sharp pentatonic minor.

The song is On My Mind by Powerfinger. Basically im trying to solo over the rhythm.

The prog is:

A sharp 5 --> F sharp 5 --> D sharp 5

ie.

G---------8--
D--8--6--6--
A--8--6--6--
E--6--4-----

Any Ideas?
The gear:

* Epiphone Les Paul Custom
* Schecter Jeff Loomis Signature 7 String
* Fender Squier P Bass
* Blackstar Stage HT-60
* Original Crybaby
* EHX Small Clone
* Boss DD-3

that tab doesn't match the chords you gave... that second chord in the tab looks like Ab or G#

DbMaj is the easiest way to go about this as your fall back as there is nothing out of the scale and you can hold it through. Seeing as it is a pretty straight forward rock tune I would stick with that (working different positions of same scale).

Bbm = 6th
AbM = 5th
Ebm = 2nd

Hope this will help

Or Cminor,

Bbmajor = 7th
Abmajor = 6th
Ebminior = 3rd
