I'm looking for a nice guitar, with a hardtail bridge, passive pickups, and preferably a set neck or neck thru body. With a good fast neck. It will be used primarily for metal, but good clean tones would be nice. List any price guitar, but preferably under $1,000 dollars. I need this to play different tunings because it is a pain in the ass to retune an FR. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

This.

But if you cant find any used, get a faded Gibson. They are supposed to be really good.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
