Basically to keep it short me and my mate were going to swap pickups for a bit and it would be really easy to just cut the wire going from the pots to the pickups and then just solder the other pickup on.

My question is if we do it that way will we get loads of feed back and buzz with it just bein soldered?

Cheers, zakk.

desolder the old pup. put heat on it and it'll come off.

if you cut wires you wont have enough to reattach after and it'll be a mess.

Do you mean the at the end of the thick wire going off to all the smaller ones actually inside the pickup?

no.

to take a wire off a pot, you heat the connection and pull a little and the wire comes off.

you dont cut wires off the pot.
