ive been making at of speaker and cab threads so now i just want to double check to see if this setup is ok

im getting a splawn superstock. due to me being broke i have to get an avatar cab until i can afford the splawn cab

so i was thinking the vintage 2x12 with g12h30's

should it be a 16 ohm cab? i plan on running the head on half power (where in the manual it says "always set the amps impedance to half of the speaker cabs impedance when using half power")

and also since im already making a thread can someone please explain how ohms work in terms of head to cab? i was searching it last night and most of the answers i got gave me and idea but werent too specific

thank you

Doesn't really matter which ohms, but I found that my cabs sound better running them at the highest ohm rating. Whatever you do, be sure to get the same ohm rating on the Splawn cab when you get it, if it's like the Nitro, there's one selector on the back that lets you choose the ohm rating for both cab inputs.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.
