how do i work out the wattage of my bass amp?

the head unit says 'maximum power consumption 300W' and the main amp says 'rated input power 250'

so what is it?

the head is a Laney RBH700. The main amp just says 'serial number DH2516' and 'model number 2BC115L8'

Look on the manufacturer's website and they'll say on the feature list:

-Fully functional 165w bass cab.

or something like that.

Wait...TS you know the cab isn't an amplifier right? The "main amp" and the head unit are the same thing.

the thing with the speakers on the bottom doesnt have a transformer, that means it relys on the head to give it power. the maximum power of the head is 300watts, so it doesnt normally get that high. well its not supposed to since its 165 rms.
if you want to know the power ur getting out, you should look at the head, not the cabinet.
