As many of you know, today is the day of TRL's finale.
MTV has officially killed all traces of music, even the shitty kind, from it's main channel.
It will not be a pretty death, as reality shows consume it's still warm carcass. Kurt Loder, Maggie Quinn...what happened to the days of yore? Paris Hilton and Tyra Banks have taken your places...horrific...

So, everyone, your final words about MTV, which, in completely wiping all music from it's schedule, has officially died. Music Television...has lost its music.

1981-2008....RIP! Poor some out for the homies...

One Last Video for MTV...

Porn is in the forest, in your parents bedroom, in the sea.
But most importantly, in your heart.

It lost its soul long ago, it was a matter of time before its mortal corpse was lain to rest

TRL is retarded, I'm glad it's over.

MTV 2 still has Headbangers Ball and I think MTV still has Sucker Free Dumpfest I think.... On another note, TRL sucked anyways.

I heard you like TV, so i fiited your car with 7 plasma screens!!!!!

When you have stuff like that, you don't need endless music videos like pretty much every other music channel.
Sig space available, give me some praise

MTV2 UK is pretty much all music, so who gives a shit about the main channel, it sucked anyway.

I'm pretty sure they dont do that anymore... Sadly

TRL wasn't music either. It was 30 second clips of top 40 crap that were drowned out by 'shout outs' of idiotic teenage fans in the studio while Carson Daly waxed his knob to 'that interview that one time with the hot chick.'
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

MTV brought us Beavis and Butthead, the spiritual fathers of the Pit.

Anyone up for some frog baseball?

The thing I find hilarious is the evolution of Vh1. If I'm not mistaken, Vh1 was created by MTV to play music videos 24/7... The only thing I see now are "The Bachelor" type shows. (i.e. Flavor of love, new york, etc)

I'm happy that TRL is over. I prefer to watch VH1 classic anyways, because they actually play music videos.

I used to think "MTV" meant "Mature Television" or something, meaning that it wasn't intended for kids. It took me a long time to figure out that they used to play music.
#25
They have Headbangers ball, the flop, and sucker free countdown. MTV still sucks though.
#26
Oh well, none of their music programs we're any good really, and they haven't been for forever. I don't ever really find myself turning to television for my musical needs in the first place though.

Canadian MTV is still pretty badass. every once and a while they have a punk or hardcore performance on MTV Live, and the Eagles of Death Metal were on a couple days ago. Jealous?

I, too, watch VH1C, but only 120 Minutes, which rarely comes on.

MTV used to be the shit. Even in the late 90s, they still had some shred of dignity. I saw it coming...but too late.
#29
So are they just going to call it 'TV' now?

No, not really.

One time I watched "Headbanger's Ball" just to see what it was all about.

Some band came on called, "The number 12 looks like you" and played the same riff 900 times.

I was like, "Well, fuck. I'm never watching that again."

So it doesn't make much difference to me. Hopefully pop music will get a lot less sales!

No, not really.

The punk would probably be Green Day or some shit.

At least MTV still has Pimp My Ride.

what was the last video? I think for poetic justice it should've been Sledgehammer, that being the first video played? Or was it money for nothing? I don't remember. but they should end on that.

I never thought TRL would end.
