Can anyone reccomend some documentaries about BM? I've already seen Metal: A Headbanger's Journey and that whole interview with Ghaal, but they don't really go that deep into BM. I've been really interested lately so if anyone can help me, thanks alot.

I have yet to find a Black Metal documentary that compares to doing the research your self.

This. And all the documentaries about black metal that I've seen sounded like they were written by a church watch group.

ON the DVD of M:AHJ, there is a half hour clip on black metal. It is mostly interviews with the guys from Emperor etc. Much better than the stuff in the main film.

I would love to see that, but I don't have the DVD. On another note, I just got my external harddrive working again but I had to redownload Black Metal by Venom and At the Heart of Winter by Immortal. Not really complaining, those are great albums.

If you want a book, Lords of Chaos was great.

i've been meaning to read that.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

Black Metal A Documentary is okay. Especially when compared to Sam Dunn. "Cradle of Filth is Norwegian lololol." It pisses me off that M:AHJ only talked about Norwegian Black Metal.

"The Norwegian bands should of thought of their own genre name, like 'Corpse Paint Metal'".

It didn't seem possible, but apparently Messiah can spam even more now.

i've been meaning to read that.

It's a bunch of bullshit and half truths. Plus over half the book does nothing but fellate Varg. It's pathetic. What can you expect when one of the writers is a douchebag wannabe nazi though.

A huge chunk of the book was interviews. That's the part I paid the most attention to and probably the most helpful part of the book.
