I need a new amp to replace my spider 3, cause its sounds shite, and my effects pedal doesnt work properly with it anyway.

I want a metal amp, something like a Mesa Boogie, but without the massively huge price tag, and something that'll work well with my x3 live (the geetar i use is in my sig)

My price range is about £300 +/- £50

Ive looked at a Randall RG- 50 TC, but i dont really know much beyond that.

Any advice is appreciated

The Randall is a good choice, have you tried it for yourself.

if you know any good used music stores, look out for a peavey XXX. you cant find it new anymore, but used it will go for about 500 USD (i dont think you'll be very lucky finding one in europe though, =/ its got a very mesa-ish sound. theres also B-52 AT112, which is also a good choice. something you could do is get an amp, and use it with your POD. thats just another option. or you could use your POD with a marshall power amp, and save up for a 1x12 or 2x12 cabinet and in the mean while use ur spider's speaker.

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

Ive seen some good reviews of the B-52, but ill need to research the XXX

Yea, ive thought about doing that, but it all gets a bit expensive i think.

Like i said, ill gather a few ideas, and then try them all out, see which suits.

Cheers.

B-52's are really nice underated amps.

The competition i would say is Bugera 333XL, and traynor amps.

Having not played a traynor, the B-52 is an overall better amp than the 333XL and more versatile.
