Hey pit, I'm thinking about getting a netbook (micro laptop, whatever you wanna call them), and I'm considering the Asus Eee 901 right now.

I do alot of travelling/working abroad, about 4 months a year, and am a university student the rest of the year. I want somehting small and compact, but not too small, hence why I'm thinking about the 901, but I'm not sure.

What are the pros and cons of these? Does anyone recommend something different, or perhaps even a different model of Eee? I don't really want to spend more than $500 to $600 CAD.

Also, I have a home computer, a powerful one. I know netbooks are no good if they are your only computer but that isn't the case here.

Also, long battery life is a must. I believe the Eee 901 ran for 5+ hours during one reviews test of nonstop video playback.

I have the 901. The battery easily lasts 5 hours. The only reason you would want to get it though, is because of its reduced size and weight (very portable).
