I noticed that on most pics of other strats apart from mine they have 3 springs in parallel, my classic player 60's strat has the middle spring straight and the two outer springs on an angle towards the middle. Does this make any difference? it does have a 2 point tremolo on it. Will it be good or bad to move them to a normal position?

also there is a wire coming out of a hole in the wood that is soldered to the metal thing that the springs are attached to. what is it?

some people do install the springs like that, putting them at an angle gives more tension, so the guitar was probably set up that way at some time. provided you are happy with your set up, leave it alone.

the wire soldered to the metal claw is the ground wire from the electrics, quite normal.
I've been imitated so well I've heard people copy my mistakes.
