You know on ITV, when adverts are coming up, they have the black and white rolling thing in the corner.

What is its name?

Normally, I don't watch ITV, but that comedy program for Prince Charles, and Harry Hill, have meant I have been watching this dreadful channel.
But the name of this thing eludes me.

Thanks for any help.

And if someone from outside the UK intends to post in the thread with a "What you talkin' about foo'?", please note the "UK'ers needed" in the title. Thanks.

something like an ident. although that might be something COMPLETELY different.

EDIT: is it like a stop sign on a vcr/dvd player? because i see that just before breaks on sky one, so i guess someone just pressed "stop"

Yeah, they still have them.

I want its name so I can read about the history of it. I'm boring like that.

Thank you so so much!
That was perfect - the first thing I would have done when I found the name was to find a Wiki article to read - but you've done it all for me!

Again, thanks!

I dunno but it always seems to come on just before the adverts start. Can be quite useful.
