I'm having a debate with a friend about how to pronounce the mythological creature, Siren. He says it like a siren on an ambulance and I think it is like the word Sir and then en. If that makes any sense. Not Sigh-ren, but Sir-en. Idk why, but I've always thought it was pronounced differently.

It's siren, like an ambulance.

The creature sings and seduces men to kill them. It makes sense to call it a siren. >_>

Have you ever watched a cartoon? They usually make episodes of greek mythology. And they say "Sigh-rens."

The siren on an ambulance is named after the mythological creature siren.
